The Renfrew Community Association (RCA) is looking for an enthusiastic, community-minded person to manage hall rentals and support the activities of the RCA Board. The RCA Hall Coordinator (HC) must be congenial, flexible, people-oriented, and should understand how community associations, non-profit boards, and City of Calgary facilities work.
The HC is the primary point of contact for hall rentals. The HC responds to emails / phone calls, provides hall tours, manages the rental calendar and agreements, carries out post-rental inspections, and communicates with RCA’s bookkeeper / Treasurer regarding payments and deposit refunds. The HC provides monthly reports to the RCA Board regarding rental activities, and undertakes initiatives to increase hall rental revenues.
The HC assists RCA’s Events and Social room committees with hall bookings, access to supplies, tours, overall general support as required; and assists the RCA board when requested with business plans, grant applications, administration, documentation, office management, etc.
The HC is also responsible for keeping up to date with, and providing recommendations on, provincial regulations relating to occupancy, health and safety, liquor licenses, etc. pertaining to hall rentals.
This is a part-time position (currently 15 hours per week, with the potential to increase to 20-25 hours per week) with flexible hours. Some tasks (email, phone calls) can be performed from home.
The successful candidate will:
Have good written and verbal communication skills
Have a good working knowledge of gmail, Google Sheets, and Google Docs
Be enthusiastic and proactive
Provide a current Police Clearance Letter upon commencement of employment
Experience with the Communal platform would be an asset
Preference will be given to candidates who reside in the community of Renfrew.
